When you compressed the calipers with a C-clamp (or whatever fancy tool you might have picked) did you have the bleeders open or closed? If open, you need to fill the brake resevoir back up with new fluid. Once refilled, or if you didnt open the bleeders & the fluid backed up to full, the brakes pads need to be set. Start engine and pump brakes a few times until you pedal feel back - might take six to ten pumps to the floor. The calipers do not move a great distance when the pedal is pushed. If after pumping the pedal is still mushy and poor braking, then need to bleed the system of air. Go back right, back left, front right, front left in order.
