I hate to say it but Tara and I won't be able to attend. Tara got laid off her job today and we won't have the $$$ to attend...

So everyone has to have some fun and bang some rocks for me too...



For any of you that know Tara and I personally and want to know how someone in my wife's industry gets laid off please e-mail me instead of posting here...

Drive up. I'm driving up at about 4:00am to beat the holiday traffic at the tunnel. I will be staying for the dinner and driving home late Saturday night.

This should cost you $$ for gas and the dinner. OK, at $2/gal that will hurt but you could get by for about $100 for the day maybe less.

Just thought this might be a way for you folks to keep the costs down and still enjoy part of the run?

If you did not want to drive I should have room if you want to ride along? I could pick you up...I70 & Morrison...

With the exception of you and Tara, nobody's as bummed as I am about this, Heath! I know first-hand how much time, money and effort you put into the pre-runs, finding us all a great place for Saturday night's group dinner and helping me with the Moab video! That's A LOT of work, folks!

I also agree with Gerald, don't give up all hope yet - where there's a will, there's got to be a way. At the very least, you MUST come up for Saturday's run, group dinner and the premiere party for the Moab video!

I'll talk to you later and we can discuss the details regarding this... Keep pluggin' on guys!

Greetin's, I know that I don't know you that well (or at all), but I would like to extend any help that I can offer. I live in Boulder, which isn't too far away, and I'm planning on getting a hotel room or camping out, so I would be glad to split it with you, or have you stay as a guest (although, it seems there are plenty of offers in the way of lodging). I'd also be happy to throw down a little bit of gas money if that would help (perhaps drive up together and fill up when needed). If there is anything, gimme an email and I'll try my best to help you out.

And as per my plans, I don't think I'll be attending the dinner.

Thanks for the help everyone... So far I've had someone offer to buy our dinner, one to loan money for a few months until I get on my feet and now with Jared Doty, and someone else offering to help we MAY just make it... I've still got a lot of things I have to look at first though like finding someone to watch two dogs...

I didn't name the other people that offered to help because they contacted me privatly and I don't know if they want everyone to know...

But for all of you that have offered, well honestly it means a lot to me and says a lot about the people that I've met on this board... Tara and I were both already impressed with the people that we've met because of the board and had the good fortune to meet and wheel with...

I have to say that this outpour of help that people are offering though says more than I could have ever imagined about our community here... I just have to thank all of you so much for the help that you're offering... It really means a lot to me to have the opportunity to possibly run with you guys this weekend still...

The one thing that I won't accept help on is the room if Tara and I still come up... I was able to get a really good deal on the penthouse from the general manager after talking with her about how many rooms that our group is using and that this is sort of a mini honyemoon for Tara and I (we haven't had a honeymoon yet and we were married in April)... I wouldn't feel right if I accepted any help on the room since I'm not just getting a regular room... If I can't pay for that myself then I won't stay... I'll either just drive up or not go... I really appreciat the offers of lodging that everyone has offer as well...

Sounds like maybe none of us will get any sleep with that kind of noise. Hopefully that room is far away from the rest.

Heath, remember the breakfast is free in the morning even if it is just a dognut and coffee.

When I reserved the room, they told me there is a fridge and microwave in the room. That will help alot!!! We are hitting Sam's for gatorade, and putting what we need for the day the night before in the room's fridge. Water also!!! We may even take some microwavable popcorn for snacks at night.

Well, I might be able to help on ths one. Heath, if you'd like, I could have my sister take care of the dogs, if they are pretty quiet. Or possibly even a couple friends of mine that have houses up here. I'll work on it this week and see what I can line up, but I'm sure I can get something. I'll even come pick 'em up I'm sure I could find someone to just cme over and feed them also, if that's what you'd prefer. As per any other help you might need, please, feel free to e-mail me or private message me.

Chris, thanks for cleaning up the posts, sometimes I just don't know And I don't think I'll be attending dinner (might have to be 1 dollar double cheeseburger weekend at mcdonald's : )

Well I live in an apartment so if someone wanted to come down here and stay in our apartment they could... But if not then I'd prefer they take the dogs back to their place... For the most part the dogs are pretty quiet... They only bark on rare occasions... Guiness is very loving and loves to play with anyone and Lacy is one of those dogs that wants to get to know you for a while first... They both LOVE to play fetch... Guiness is 33 lbs and Lacy is 18 lbs so neither of them are big... Two small dogs...

I'm looking for someone still too, but if you can find someone that would be GREAT... It would help A LOT!!!

Awesome, good to hear. I was also wondering when you were planning on going up? I figured maybe I could ride up there with you, considering I can go through Denver to get to I-70, and go up that way. I don't really know how to get there anyways I figured that might cut a couple of the expenses out along the way, ya know, the whole two birds with one stone thing
