no D or R on my 2002 automatic 4x4 Ranger

hi everybody, how is everything with your trucks? hope ok because for me not so good, here is my problem:

yesterday while i was heading home the truck began to lose power and i noticed that the RPM were fine but the odometer was not, the truck was only moving by the impulse that brought before, it was like in neutral, i was able to get in to my home in 2nd, this morning when i was checking it realized that i was not getting DRIVE and REVERSE, the truck does not move, just a little bit when i let off the brake, but when i press it again just does not move again, only a little bit in D, and as i press the gas pedal the rpm increases itself but the truck does not move and have a different weird noise but not loud, also increase while i press the gas pedal, 1 and 2 work fine....a little help here would be awesome guys...what do you think about it?

by the way the transmission fluid's level is fine and looks pretty good, it's a 4.0L 6cyl.....thanks for the help an keep it up with this amazing forum.

Did the OD light flash when this first happened, if it did get the stored transmission code read. Not all OBD2 code readers can read trans codes.

ups, yeah, i forgot to mention that, the problem began and the o/d light started flash :S well, got to read that code then, if have any other ideas on this it would be great, thanks for the help.
