2000 North Face
Hi, I bought a 2000 North Face a month ago and after the dreaded chains failed, The transfer box died and nearly tore my front axle to bits. Being made of stern stuff I have sorted these problems and believe it or not, have not lost faith in the truck. (I also own an Italian motorcycle so am an optimist!) The question I have is can I program a fob to my truck having only a key and no fob ? I have heard that I need a fob to program a second fob, Is that true? The truck enters programming mode with no problems and if so, which fob do I get for my truck? Thanks in advance for any replies and I have to say these are awesome trucks which look superb.:notworthy

Hey mick
Welcome to the forum.
PM chrisquelch as he is a member here and may be able to supply the fob you need and the info on programming.
Also come say hi to the guys in the uk section

As you can get into programming mode all you need is the two or three button fob. Programming mode erases any existing fobs from the system.

Thanks guys, fleabay is the next stop I think, looking forward to getting her fully sorted, it's my second one and owning them has made me a much better mechanic, funny how the local Ford dealer (Omc in Oldham lancs) does not want to know when I need info and parts. Their loss. Thanks again, Mick.

hey Mick, why the heck would you have to go to the dealer for info,
here we have info on things even the dealers have no clue about,,,

I spent a while on the forum and know what you mean, I wanted to change the rear diff fluid and they didnt know what type it used, The chimp I spoke to asked what an Explorer North Face was??? I am still waiting for a reply a week later! Will look it up on here. Thanks guys. Mick.

75-140 synthetic if its a limited slip rear diff.
You might have a tag on the rear diff that says 75-140 synthetic only or you can check the sticker in your door jamb.

You will find that we don't get the sticker on the door jamb here. But all the UK axles are D4 3.73 LS. It is on the id plate under the bonnet.

Thanks for all the help, Its a similar story on the Benelli motorcycle forum where everyone has a common interest, hopefully the big un will be sorted very soon so I can have a weekend off at last! This is the last time I go all soft on a car that needs TLC! Not really, its a labour of love in a strange way!!! :D
