f I was broke and didnt feel like buying another computer seeing as this one is good oterwise, Would it be a bad idea to Make overdrive manually controled by me via a switch on the dash?

I've done this for diagnostic purposes without negative consequence. As noted, the PCM acts as a ground side switch, so you would simply be replacing the PCM in this circuit with a manual switch.

My switch is mounted and installed on the dash and it works flawlessly. I have it leeching off of the TC lockup circuit. Much thanks to everyone who posted in this thread to help me out. A big thanks to Mr. Shorty for all of his wiring and circuit info on the subject. Once I had gotten getting it to turn on figured out, the last piece was the band was out of adjustment. I'll see about having pictures of the switch tomorrow.
