Have a 92 Ranger with 4.0 and A4LD trans it will not go into OD I flushed it changed filter and check lines etc still no go Does it have an electric solonid to shift it to OD and if so where is it

Welcome to this forum! I've renamed your thread, and moved it into the transmission section. A lack of overdrive could be mechanical (broken or misadjusted band, valve body or gaskets, damaged overdrive clutches, planetary, sprag or a servo piston) or electrical (internal wiring harness in the transmission, bad solenoid in the valve body, lack of a signal from the PCM due to a failing VSS, MAF, TPS or other sensor).

I have been dealing with the same issue on mine. Does your torque converter lockup work? If not, it could be an electrical issue.

OK here is what i found so far Flushed trans again checked soleniods inside trans those were OK Unplugged wires on outside of trans and cleaned if needed put it back together and used good fluid and added a bottle of TRANS X from parts house it worked good until i checked it and I added fluid till it was just a fuzz above full line Man that was a mistake things went downhill Quick so I drained some out to were it just in the middle of the crosshatches on the dip stick and its fine again Found out real Fast it does not like to be at full mark on stick. Also checked vacum line and replaced it even if it did not need it so far every thing is OK with this Transmisson. Ithink with fluid and Trans X i spent 80$ and about 2hours time
