More info needed: Engine, mileage, presence of warning lights...

Its a 5.0 with a 150.000 no warning lights other that overdrive light flashing

dr: Do these 2nd. gens throw trouble codes with flashing O/D, or did that come with 3rd. gen? imp

Imp, the 2nd generation will throw transmission codes. My old Actron scanner won't read them though (but go figure it will Honda transmission codes!).

OK ran a code scanner, (PO741 Toque Converter Clutch circuit performance stuck off). (PO782 2-3 shift) (P178 Transmission slip) OK somebody tell me what it means. Minor Fix or a complete rebuild.

Given ONLY the 0741, a solenoid failure would be likely. Adding the other two may mean more. You could replace the TCC solenoid, not that big a job, depending on whether you pay someone labor, not too expensive of parts. In any event, if more than a stuck solenoid is present, one would likely replace it, along with the others, if rebuilding goes ahead, depends on mileage/useage of the transmission. imp

Thank you kindly for the info! Having owned 3 second-gens, I never had a lick of trouble with any of them, so gained little on-hands experience.

3rd. gen (2004) I bought at home (MO) drove to AZ, then got flashing O/D OFF, I already saw by the tach that the TCC was not engaging, paid a guy $75, I was learning fast, that codes other than "Check Engine" were being used now. Code indicated TCC solenoid malfunction; though he recommended against it, I drove the daggone Expl. all the way back home with no TCC, used a little more gas, bought a solenoid module on-line, threw it in there, running good still! imp

Is there any posts here that will help in the replacement of the solenoids?
