If we tell you the code, it wont be a secret anymore now would it????

Sounds like you wired it wrong. Posting a pic of solenoid would be a good idea.

i wired just like the way it came off factory ? i even put the factory one back on to see if i had power nothing?. i did somthing? could i have blew out a relay? i checked the fuses there all good. this is triping me out. at least before i messed with i had power. i did un hook pos battery cable when i made the change.

i tried to take a pic but it is to dark will take one tomorrow. i changed my neg battery end. thinking i had no ground. could it be bad ground wire? if i had it wired wrong would it kill the power ? i guess i could have wired it wrong? i dont know for sure now . just wierd i have no power. everything must go thru that relay.

you've either wired it wrong or you didn't connect all the wires.

there were 2 on the top 2 on the bottom and the littile small wire . this has got to be a battery connection problem with there being no power. any suggestings guys? is there a factory reset or somthing. looking like im going to have to have it towed to shop. which sucs out loud. when i hooked the pos up couldnt even get a spark. :feedback:

Try flipping the the main posts connections. If not check the continuity in the little red cable that goes to the ignition.. That cable may have a cut in it somewhere.

Can't tell from the picture but does the solenoid you bought have two small post on it on either side of the larger posts? If so you may just have the small wire on the wrong post.

This is frustrating? been messing with this thing for 2 days. if i didn't need it right now i would use it as a target.

Try flipping the orientation of the solenoid 180 degrees.. If your able to jumper the solenoid to get it to crank its telling me the signal wire (red one) isn't on the right connection or there is a short in the line.

im not sure i have the right wires hooked up so im afraid to do anything until i can get confirmation if its wired right. i dont want to make it worse by frying the electrical system, guessing.
next time i will take picture before i ever do anything else. Thanks for all the reply's
maybe someone will see the picture and know for sure if it is right or wrong?

okay, some general information:

a starter solenoid is nothing more than an electromagnetic switch. it's used to allow a skinny wire (the red one on the "S" START terminal of the solenoid) to energize the electromagnet in the solenoid which then make a connection between the "+" side of the battery and the starter motor. when you release the ign key from the START position power stops flowing to the red wire, the soleniod is switched off and the starter motor stops running. the starter soleniod is also the place where power flows from the battery to the rest of the vehicle's electrical system (fuse boxes, ignition switch). this has nothing to do with the starter, it's just an electrical junction point. on vehicles with electronic ignition the "I" IGNITION terminal (if the solenoid has one) is not used.

so, if there's power at the battery and at the solenoid but nowehere else something is not hooked up right at the solenoid or battery. power should always be available at the fuse boxes and ignition switch and it's not. sorry I don't know which wire(s) are incorrect but something's wrong. the only other thing i can think of is if you've shorted out something major and burnt out the MAIN fuse. if you've done this i think you would have noticed it as there would have been some major sparking going on. did you disconnect the battery when you changed the solenoid? the MAIN fuse is usually located in the power distribution box under the hood. it may look like a small metal wrench or it might just be a big-ass fuse (60-100 amp). do you have a test light or an volt meter?
