No reverse after valve body rebuilt

i rebuilt the valve body did everything and i put the transmission fluid in at first i didnt put enough and it wouldnt go anywhere now i put more in and it drives but it still does the same thing it did before and a little worse, which i had no or delayed reverse, now i have none, and it would shift at a really high rpms now its still doing it what could it be?

Be sure you have enough transmision fluid in the system. You have to check it when it gets warmed up. Second when you redid the VB did you replace the orings on the reverse servo? It can be a cause of no or slow reverse.

Did you check the low/reverse band for damage while the servo was out?

i didnt replace the o rings i looked at them and they seemed okay. and i didnt check the band while the servo was out.

Do you have manual 1st gear? You might have to go back into the transmission to remove the servo.

It's also known as first gear. It says (1) on the column shift.
