After a good 15k on my transmission I figured I'd give a closing update:
I adjusted the bands and performed the master reset back in the Fall of 2016. As you would expect I could feel the transmission relearning all the shift points and such. For the first 1k miles the transmission would struggle at times while going up a hill or really being push. All the flaring of gears that was being experienced had gone away. Surely but slowly as I kept driving on it, the transmission seemed to break in and now after 15k miles of driving on it, I can gladly say that all my problems have gone away.
