1994 4.0. My son pulled it a part. The AC compressor was leaking and blew oil on the front of the engine. We cleaned upper and lower intakes. Installed the new gaskets with problem solver parts. Found and replace a bad vacume line from the purge valve to the throttle body. Installed new o-rings on the injectors. Injectors all read between 15.7 and 16.1 olms. My son thought he pluged everything back in but it won't start. Cycled the fuel pump about 50 times. Have fuel to the rail. But for some reason no spark at the plugs. He did unplug but did not remove the CPS. A bolt was dropped and ended up in the crankstaft sensor but the battery was disconnected. Coil pack is plugged in. New AC compressor is on and has oil in it but not plugged in till we can get it charged.

Any ideas? Any common mistakes with this we could have made? Back up this evening to look stuff over again in the day light.

Best bet is to retrace averything that was touched. Initially I was going to mention the crank sensor, but see you looked that over. Start with the ignition fuse & check power up to the coil pack.

We checked the ign. circuit last night and it was good. This evening in the daylight my son found it. A connector under the alternator and under the alternator harness was not pushed in all the way. They checked it last night and again this evening then Clint felt like something was wrong and checked it again and pushed harder that time and it clicked. He then went around and it started right up. Thanks for the help and looks guys.

Glad you found it. I just now saw this thread Jack-sorry I missed it.

When we swapped the engine into the 93 , before I was even finished , Burns told me when it didn't start to go plug those 2 connectors in. I guess it is common to miss those.

Thanks Jon. How's it going? Yer back doing OK? We really need to get together and do something with that bottle of Elijah Craig and the tanker jug of Bulliet.

I did a search and didn't find anything but I guess I weren't askin the right question. Hope this thread will pop up if others have this trouble.
