Please Help!,
I am a novice to auto repair and would like to learn to repair this myself if possible. When I depress the gas pedal, I get very little response from the motor. the car does not rev high but it moves very slowly with the pedal all the way down. Someone suggested the gas filter?
I have a '93 xlt

The fuel filter will not cause that, it may cause rougness but not nearly no power. I would check your air filter and make sure that is all clean. Also, check your throttle body, anything having to do with the air coming in. Try cleaning the mass air flow sensor as well. I would definitely remove your throttle position sensor and inspect that, it seems like that is not responding.

Have you checked your oil???

Have you checked the cable that runs fromthe gas pedal to the throttle body?
check the gas pedal, cable, and linkage first

It something to do with the intake or a vacuum line. I'm guessing a vacuum line because it sounds very similar to it. Get under the hood and check them all for leaks or cracks. They can deteriorate pretty quick.

It's going to be something stupid, simple, yet vital. as it always is

If the truck will notw move very little or none at all, it's in the vaccuum line. At least, that's what happened to me when I had the same thing happen 85 feet from my home luckily........
