Nice weather here in DC finally. 97 SOHC w/102,000miles.

With windows down/radio off you can here a noise 5-15mph. Like the calibers are not totally releasing or maybe a bearing???

Apply the brakes and the noise is gone. A month ago I greased the caliber slide bolts.

Ideas?

lift the

truck in the air and with engine off roll the tire manually see if you hear the sound , are the brakes new ? if yes maybe they will quite down with a little time and braking, let me know what you find ok

Brakes are not new but I'll put all four corners on stands and spin some tires tonight and see what I can hear.

The sound happens when the brakes are cold and only the first 1-2 brake applications. Pullled a tire and the caliper. I know the calipers were replaced 30,000miles or so but the rotors are oem w/102,000 miles and almost 6 years. Not bad.

Time for new rotos and pads.

Niose like you describe is not uncommon. Typically its just the pads rubbing a high spot on one of the rotors. Having the rotors turned or replaced (and if the pads are below 30% replace them to) should fix the problem.
