Well I F%^&ed up big time this morning. Was driving my Escort to work, people in front of me stoped to a dead stop, didn't see it in time slammed on teh brakes locked all 4 up and smacked into the brand new mustang in front of me. UGH! The darn vehicle is not even paid off yet! So the hood is toast the fenders the radiator, and probably a few other things. Then the DANG air bag went off which will make you choke pretty good with all its nasty gas and smacked my arms really well so I have lovely looking arms now. It sucked a big one. I am sure my insurance will skyrocket now too. Oh boy! LOL I am also very stiff.

Were you on I-25? I bet you got a humdinger of a ticket for that one!! Hope you are ok!

well glad to hear your not too bad off, considering the accident. how bad was the mustang? So do you have comprehensive or collision coverage? At least you kind of have another vehicle to drive in the meantime, even though its missing a window.

ryan...glad to see you werent hurt too bad....car accidents suck...trust me...i know......

I 25 between Hampdon and 225. Ticket is $95 if I mail it in within two day 2 point jumps up to 4 if I wait. I have full coverage on this car and I am sure I will use it all and my rates will go nicely through the roof. :) I am okay pretty stiff neck and the burns/bumps on my arms from the air bag are the worst of it. I am glad I have the Explorer. It sucks sitting so far down in that Escort but the gas millage is great. LOL ah well... :)

I just keep thinking about all the fun bills that will pile up from this. $500 deductable, $95 ticket, $rates go up for insurance. LOL Ah well its just money! Not like I need it right?

I was over one lane and a little behind him, and all I could do was watch. The traffic was actually going pretty decent this morning, then each lane started slamming on their brakes. I caught it in time and avoided anything, but I watched him just plow right into the Mustang, going about 45 mph to zero in 2 seconds. I never EVER want to see that again, it was unreal. Made us both puke afterwards.

He is very lucky for that airbag! It beat him up but saved the head vs. windshield option. :( Now he's anti-small economy cars and pro-big trucks!

Ryan, I guess $95 and 2 points isn't too bad, even though it should be the idiots fault that stopped on the highway in the first place!!(NOT)
Maranda, that would have been awfull to have to watch the accident!! I bet you will have a few dreams about that one!

Yeah I don't know why I would have to be fined for it on top of repairs. Its not as though I didn't learn a lesson. (Don't drive at all! LOL)

Its weird thinking about it now, its almost like one of those shows where they re-inact the event and its all cloudy. Thats the way it feels.

Ryan,

Sorry to hear about the accident, glad you're OK considering the speed! I also can speak from experience and there will be a "pattern of healing", if you will. I know I felt like I'd never drive again after mine, but then reality kicks in! ;) I also know about those lovely airbag burns! That was also my only injury and, in my opinion, they weren't even needed...

Anyway, best wishes for your recovery, as well as those of your insurance rates! :)

He was freaking out every time someone stopped in front of us on the way to his house last night. I told him I could get out and push us home if it made him feel better! LOL It did really suck to witness that, and the silly thing was I honked my horn when I saw that he was going to hit, like I was going to stop him or something! LOL

I'll try to post a picture of the poor car eventually...

man that sucks. glad that you're all right though. material possesions can always be replaced, but lives andlimbs can't. yup, those airbags suck, but they probably saved your head from hitting the steering wheel. the only crappy part about the air bag is the powder burn from the chemical reaction that takes place in it, and your ringing ears for a couple of days. and if you're sitting in the passenger seat (like me)when it happens the bigger airbag hurts more.

The insurance just called and I guess the boy did it good when he did it--the adjuster says it's a total loss, not fixable. I'm soooo glad I wasn't in that car! I think I would have been doomed whether there was a passenger airbag or not. Sorry Ryan. :(
Well, now you can get that truck you've been wanting!

Well since its a total loss I guess that means I can get rid of it save a few bucks a month and save up for a while for a 93-96 F150 Ext cab short bed. :) At least thats the idea in my mind right now. Get one of those and I would have a real truck again and have a safe vehicle to drive. :)

LOL yeah! Except I don't know when I will get mine. :) I need to pay off some bills first and this will give me a chance. Once I do that then here I come! LOL
