I got crazy with the Herc this weekend, and also got my fender flares on. PICS say it all:

All taped up:

All tape gone:

Plus Fender flares and some more herc'ing:

I also got my brake lines and shocks on this weekend, so all thats left now is alignment, front bumper, a little more herc on the flares (only 1 coat on them now), and its ready to roll.

dont forget bigger tires!!!

damn. oh yeah. But I'm already running 33s on the 3.73s, I can't go to 35s w/o going to taller gears, and at 150+ apiece for the rubber, I can't afford to do it all right now. So, 33s for now, 35s in the definite future.

Looks good! Take ya a pressure washer and clean that frame down really good and take some rubber undercoating in a spray can and paint the frame. That would make the rest of it blend in better and make the truck look better in general! But it looks like you took your time and did a good job.

DAYAM... Looks really nice. GJ

Looks good!...did you prep the paint at all

Nice job!

How much did all that Herculiner cost?

Lookin good Chris!! Damn I like the flares too!! Hey I thought you had a tube bumper on b4.

I will have to come see it in person. I am supposed to be making a trip to Fairbanks soo.

Got my extra coats on and used up the rest of my Herc. 1 gallon goes a looooong ways. I forgot to do the step bars, but they look pretty good as they are. I'll probably get those on tomorrow. Front bumper is on, and I got everything re-torqued, so I'll take it for its first ride tomorrow. Wanted to tonight, but decided to get the herc on before it got dirty. Still needs an alignment, but I got the toe-in pretty much under control.

$70 for the 1 gallon herc kit that includes a brush, two foam rollers, a roller handle, a paint can key, and some scotchbrite. Its supposed to be $100 for the kit, but one of our local places got some last year and were selling it at their cost.

As for prep, washed with dishsoap to get all wax/crud off. Then Scotchbrite on a palmsander until the gloss was gone. Wipe dust down, then wipe with Acetone (recomends xylene, but acetone is cheaper). The stuff is supposed to be a bedliner, so if that will hold up to truck bed wear, it will hold up okay on the outside.

AlaskanJack, I had a cruddy old tube bumper from a bronco or something that I had brackets welded on to. It was pretty beat up and rusty, so it was more just temporary until I got enough lift that I could put the stocker back on. I've got a Smittybilt grill guard for it, which was the other reason to put the stocker back on, but I've got to get something fabbed because of the body lift.

thats it for now.

I've been thinkin about doin that, still not sure though
