rick I beg of you. Please undo the sites mobile version.

I hate mobile versions of websites as they take away all the functions you need and dont give you an option to use the regular version.

At least give me an option to disable the mobile app.

thank you man. Believe me I love the site and how you run it and all the other recent additions are great. But I hate mobile sites. I paid 400$ for a phone so I wouldnt need mobile versions.
I understand the need for them but if I could disable it for me that would be great.

I especially like the new bar at the bottom of the page that says who is viewing the thread at the moment.

From what I understand there should be a way for you to modify the info your phone sends out for browser detection. It would be much easier for me, if this could be fixed on your end. Maybe do a Google search for mobile phone browser detection?

I personally have no preference.. I use a blackberry and also have a broadband card for the notebook.

I agree its faster than loading a normal page and its laid out better than most mobile sites and I wouldnt mind so much eexcept 98.333 percent of my time on the site is done with my phone so you can see my predicament.

My browser on my palm device is really slow. The site is WAY better as text only. It seems it would be WAY more work to make a true mobile version of the site, rather than just removing the graphics.

You're running Iphone then?

I know for Windows Mobile there are hacks.. My Pocket IE reports IE 6 which works for me. Hopefully there is a way to do that with the Iphone, but I doubt Apple will tell you. I had to manually directly edit the registry by using a registry editor.

I may switch it back just for this site as running the full version is slow (too much client side Javascript/Ajax and its 300k minimum per page) and from I saw the mobile version of EF isn't a WAP version, its more or less a stripped down version.

See I'm using Sybian and it was just fine before, I'm not even 3G and it was pretty quick

yeah I'm on an iPhone, the old version not the new one that came out today.

Well after a half hour on hold with apple (listening to wierd ass music) they said there's nothing I can do in the phone to change it.

I'll install the new software update tonight, maybe there's a fix in there. And next week I'll be buying the new iPhone maybe it'll have an option.

I'll try at&t to see if they know anything.

Check message boards.. I found most of my info from Howardforums (I think thats right).. its a good message board for cell phone people.. it got me started with hacking my phone..

I'm overclocked by 10%, set PIE to say IE, and a bunch of other little things... BUT I can tell its running Windows (mobile). I have to reboot it once every few weeks or it will lock up...

Symbian is my next phone OS (Nokia e90), but the one I want is $800 and I can't justify that.

Strange... One of our moderators is using an Iphone. I am able to setup things different for the Iphone than for others.

Right now my Iphone settings should be showing you the default blue page with graphics... We need to get Section in here to see if he is still getting the correct version of the site.

One thing I just noticed.. you don't get the mobile version until your logged in.. I got the full version on an LG venus phone.. once I got it to log in it switched to the stripped down version..

well I just reloaded the page and im still seeing the text version in shades of blue. No graphics or signatures.

well Ive tried everything I can think of. Soft reset, hard reset, erased history/cookies/cache, signed out and back in Several times. Its still like maniac says. When I'm not signed in I get the normal page, but once I sign in, boom, here comes the mobile version.

I beat the bageesus outa this thing. Its coming apart at the seems. Ad it doesn't perform quite like it used too. But since maniac gets it too I don't know.

I also noticed that no matter what smiley someone enters it shows up as a regular in the mobile version.
