Glad you got it back on the road. What's the 8th and 10th digits of your VIN? What size motor was put in? Did they change your transmission?

Just a suggestion: Id get a carfax report on your VIN. Its true, the state police in Nevada used exploders for a short time prior to going to Expeditions, And IF they didnt come with V8's, they would have had them installed. But, get a carfax and then your questions will be answered.

That's I good idea I'll look into it. Although it may be a while since I just had all this car work done I don' think parent will help me money wise for a while. lol

Just my 2 cents, but it seems like maybe he might have 94 BRONCO EB. Cuz there is no way a dealer ever said a v8 was stock in a 94 EXPLORER. On the other hand the BRONCO's had 302's and 351's.:)

I'm not sure what size or exact number the motor is in terms of how big , it just simply says "engine/transmission replacement" on my receipt from the shop among lots of other things, I could call them tomorrow maybe. I'm not really sure about posting my vin though , I don want somebody to steal my exploder now that it finally works! lol

Not much can be done with your VIN, let alone the 8th and 10th digits :)

the first 10 digits basicly are just what the vehicle is... ford/merc/lincon explorer/mustang and what engine 5.0/4.0/2.3 and what not.. the last 7 digits are WHICH vehicle, meaning what number on the assembly line, where was it made, what other options are on it. the last 7 is what you want the protect, the first 10 dont really matter.

I think your right. His description just says "94 Eddie Bauer." IIRC, the Bronco's also came with that trim level.

I'll restate..nothing ever even mistaken as a '94 V-8 was ever a '94 V-8.

I think we got the point, Masterd. Let's move beyond that and see if there is another answer. The suggestion that he might have a Bronco is a good point.

I don't think anyone in their right mind could mistake a bronco for an explorer, especially if they owned the vehicle and came on an explorer forum to ask a question about it. I think the govt vehicle explanation is plausible.

OP! get your VIN on here so we can put this mystery to rest!

Just to rest your mind. There is NOTHING that the public can do with your VIN. Your VIN is displayed on your dash in full view of the public. All it gives is what, where and by whom your vehicle was built by. There is NO personal information in a VIN number, and yes, I do know.
So, If you do want an answer please post your VIN.

Hi all!

Sorry I didn't realize that this thread was still going as my "power issue" has actually been solved. I'm kinda disappointed however that everybody seems to think I can't read the "explorer" badge on my car. I mean it even says explorer on my title. I also used to have a camera I could borrow my from my sister but now that she moved away I haven't even been able to take pictures for facebook in months.

Not much can be done with your VIN, let alone the 8th and 10th digits :)

I still don't really know enough about how the whole vin system works to just let everybody have it , but I guess I'll feel ok with giving away just the two. The 8th appears to be a "P" and the 10th appears to be a "R". I also went outside and looked at the vin behind the windshield on the little dash area and it looks to be the same as my title.

I really don know what else to post. Until my parents let me borrow more money it'll be a while till I can get a good camera for some pictures, or can afford a vehicle history report. If I were made of money I sure would like to see the report or take some more recent pictures of it. Whenever I get one or the other I'll post em here. Until then thanks all for the initial help with my problems from before.:p:
