i jsut got done hard wiring a 350 watt(600 surge) power invertor in my x. i have 2 outlets in my console that holds my cb and scanner and then a set in the rear cargo area. i also mounted a set of 3 cigertte lighters in the rear cargo area(already added 2 more to front) unfortunatly it will be a while before i can get pics(lack of digicam) but ill put some up eventually.

that's cool. but how many chain smokers are you going to haul around that you need that many lighters?;)

All that sounds real cool. A word of warning though. Those power inverters aren't all they're cracked up to be. At least mine isn't and it's a 300w. I had to really rev the Explorer to get any reaction from my blender (makin' margaritas!). Having the truck running like that really took the fun out of it all. Maybe a blender just draws to many amps or watts or whatever. I hope you have better luck than I did.:p

that's why you should only make mixed drinks while driving down the highway.

"Road trip.... don't forget the pina colada mix!";)

i think blenders pull a lot of power, like 8 amps or somethin, mine was able to handle a 4.5 amp drill today with no prblems, my next day off im installing my new system and hard wiring a solar battery maintainer/trickle charger to keep my battery up to speed. another thing, do yall think it could handle a mini fridge? if so that would kick a$$. i would just pull up to the beach chill in the shade of my tailgate witha fan blowin on me with nice cold drinks right next to me, that would be sweet

Hmmm. Are you saying you want to run a dorm fridge off your battery? Sounds like trouble to me. I would think it would consume your battery pretty quickly. Another option is those Igloo plug in 12v coolers but I've found those to be pretty useless. I did read in a four wheel magazine that they reviewed a real frig. sold by ARB (!!?) that was supposed to kick ass. Maybe check their web site.

zensius- i read about that arb fridge as well, but i think the cost was over 200 dollars. i dont forsee a problem with the fridge as it will only be in use for a few hours at a time(never overnight) and they cycle on and off and according to that little energy giude sticker they only cost like 30 dollars a year to run in a house. i did some math and that comes to a very small amount of power being drawn. but either way im gettin a second battery at the same time i get the fridge(prolly dont nned it but its just an excuse to get one :))
