My explorer has experienced a rash of not starting.
When I try to start the car there is a high pitched noise from the started that sounds like grinding more than the usually won’t start click noise
According to autozone the alternator is ok
I show that it’s only generating 13.6-14.7 volts at idle
According to autozone the battery is good, but was depleted to 75% charge
It seems to be maxing at 87% charge in their machine.
I have a one-year-old alternator remanufactured
And a one-year-old yellow top Optima battery
