I've read all the threads about suspension lifts and body lifts. In that Explorers and other SUVs have a propensity to roll over, isn't raising the center of gravity on a tip prone vehicle just asking for trouble?

I understand the desire to lift a vehicle for off roading but for street use it seems dangerous to me.

BTW, I have a 92 Explorer so I guess if I was real worried about roll overs I wouldn't let my kids drive it. Heck, I drove it for 5 years with Firestone Tires on it and didn't even come close to dying. A little worried about lifting it though.

Usually when a vehicle is lifted, the aftermarket wheels and tires used are wider than stock, thus making the vehicle less tippy. Fact is, you cant drive it like a car.... common sense must be used.

obviously it is going to be dangerous if you corner at 50mph. everything is relative.

Biggest factor is realizing that it is not a car. I think this applies to bone stock expos aswell, too many people who don't understand that drive it like a car and then flip it. When it's lifted just realizing you have to modify your driving habits is adaquate to keep the rubber side down. There is a guy on here with a lifted truck who was being towed at 45mph and lost a wheel totally...he kept the truck upright, and there are other stories like this...it all depends on the driver.

With my fabtech lift for my toyota, there was a sticker that came with it to be posted for the driver... it says basically this truck is lifted and has a higher center of gravity and will be more prone to rollovers both on and off road.. so to use cuastion when dirivng it at all speeds...
