Well like the title says this was not your typical whoops. I took my explorer to a shop because the clutch needed replacing. I took it to a local shop, my dad financed the owners house, on Monday. They said it would be finished on Friday and I wasn't too concerned about it because i got to drive my dad's F-150. I rode up there on Fri. at about 4:30, and what did I find: an Explorer in pieces. Evidentally they ordered the wrong slave cylinder which i might add didn't need replacing. So here it is Tue. and I am just now getting my X back. They replaced the clutch, rear main seal, slave cylinder, and resurfaced the fly wheel. Guess what the total price was $ 726...well...whoops

Its the mechanics in VA, I am telling you! I needed to get a new piece for my shifter (5 speed in a 'Yota pickup). Shop said I would have it back tomorrow. 8 days later I went and picked it up. It cost me close to $100 too! In NC I flooded the engine driving through some tide pools (I know, dumb move). Needed a tune-up and good steam clean of the engine. Had it back in less than 24 hours. Cost me around $85. VA mechanics are good guys, but there is something about the ones I have dealt with. Oh well, guess I will do the work myself from now on. Its more fun that way.
