Number 899 Hiper fog bulbs

They say these are made by the same company that makes Hiper 9007 bulbs etc.... and they won't draw any extra current. What do you think?

Is there anyone who's got Hiper or other bulbs in their fog lights?

I saw these at my local pep-boys ... almost got them then I saw that they are much more powerful. I'm concerned about heat and what it will do to the housing. How about, you try and then I'll try

From what I see from the pic in the auction, the lights are way too powerful. They're supposed to be 39.5 watts, not 55. But it's doable, do the mod at your own risk.

I just don't want to melt my fog light housing, because I just replaced one of the housings, which cost me 80 bucks to fix (cause it's the fog light, housing, and metal frame too)

I just don't want to take that chance unless it tells me something about how much more heat will be let off by those.....

The stock bulbs in the fogs are somethin like 30W. I bought a set of Street Glow bulbs that are 55W almost 5 months ago. I havn't had any problems at all with the higher wattage bulb and they are on all the time with the headlights. I have sat in town for 2-3 hours at a time with them on where the most heat build up would occur and they still work great and havn't melted or deformed the housing in anyway.
