O/D Light Flashing

Ok, so I know there are alot of "O/D FLASHING" thread, but alot of the replies are random and I can't locate a set answer.

Yes, I have an O/D light flashing, everytime I drive. What steps do I need to do first, and what might be the problem? Please list a set of possible problems and fixes that I can do myself.

Find out what the codes are. The flashing overdrive light is equivalent to a check engine light for a transmission.
