O/D Off light flashing?

What does this mean. This trans seems to be shifting fine but the darn light will not stop flashing. This is my first explorer. It is a 98 eddie bauer w/4.0 and a automatic transmission. Please advise

If you can, scan for codes. Some times it'll just be a little glitch, or it can be time to start looking for a good trans shop! If you disconnct the bat for a few minutes, it'll clear that light. If it comes back, it means there is some thing wrong for sure.
