Well I used to be a XJ Cherokee fan until I test drove a 92' Explorer to buy for the kid. What a nice ride, plan to get another 92-94 Explorer for myself and retire the XJ to offroad only use until it finally dies.
But, the 92' XLT 4WD I bought her has some issues that I am working through (only paid $1100 for it). Main issues right now is that the O2 sensor that is installed in the Y-Pipe at the area just before the Cat, the wires& plug from the sensor itsef are hanging under the Exploder not hooked up to anything, causing the Check engine light to come on after driving a few miles. I have been under this thing all day and for the life of me cannot find the wire bundle and plug to hook the O2 sensor into.
Can anyone tell me the general location of where I need to be looking? It appears from the exhaust setup that this Exploder has only one O2 sensor instead of 2 or 3. I am starting to wonder if someone changed the exhaust and got the wrong one and I might find O2 bundles in other areas than where it needs to be???????
That and the 4x4 is inop, but I can handle that one, and a bad shimmy/shake at 45-75 Mph that goes away when coasting tells me U-Joints are bad.
But this O2 sensor thing is most important right now so any help is appreciated.
