New to these forums... Well i got my 94 limited ford explorer and i just had the wheel bearings replaced and the check engine light was on so i asked if they could take a look at it... well, the computer could not communicate with the truck and the hooked up a volt meter to it and the volts were jumping. The guy said i may have to hardwire a plug that comes off the negitive terminal wiring. Anyone have any clue... I would like to get that fixxed as well as the check engine light, they may even be the same reason lol.

Thanks guys :)

Well i know bout the manual pull. its just worryin me that the comp they hooked up says cannot communicate with the vehicle. So that needs to be fixxed... so i am lookin at that

...As long as your CEL is operable, try the paperclip method first....

...I have seen a lot of operator and scanner errors on first gens...;)

well the shop actually had the error. They said the comp would not communicate because either the ground was bad on the truck or that the trucks computer was going bad. And that the small plug-in on the connector for the OBD 1 has a voltage that fluxuates from around 3.0 to 4.8, which they said should be at a solid 5.0

...That could be possible...

...What were the symptoms you had to make you take it to a shop? ...other than having the bearings replaced and the CEL come on at their shop..

Well it needed wheel bearings, and just to get checked over... because the light has been on.. i pretty much just got it... and i went to see what the light was... and they couldnt get the code. So i have to do it manual.. but thats what they told me is that it will not communicate... and they showed me that.
