My Obd2 plug doesn't seem to be responding. I've went to check my CEL today and with both my scanner and the auto parts store one, no power on. I have no idea what could be the issue?

Check your fuses. There is one that powers the OBD port.

The same fuse powers the cig lighter socket which is the most common fuse to be blown

All the fuses tested good I just disconnected both battery cables and reconnect um again to clear the code obvious it was for the check gas cap. Haven't checked the plug yet.

Do you have power at your cig lighter port?
99.9% of the time when the obd2 port is not responding it is because the fuse for the power port is blown. I would have a really close look at that fuse

I checked the fuse for cigarette lighter with a multimeter it tested good? I may just replace the fuse still and see if it fixes it. Then I'll check the obd 2 port itself. But thanks. I realize that thing hasn't worked since we got the truck.

There are two cig lighters the aux port in the center console is on a separate fuse u believe, you may be checking the wrong fuse!

So over the years I have had about 100 of these explorers go through my shop, I have seen a non working obd2 port about 5 times, every single time it was the fuse

Fuse 17 right? Or am I wrong I may just check all of them.

Check them all with a meter or a test light

I also planned on doing that Donald's lol just cleaning it up first. I'll do that first thing tomorrow with my meter.

I can go get my book out and look see the fuse circuits protected

The other thing that happens w these gen ii is the dash fuse box is hard to see thanks to the drivers door I cannot tell you how many explorers I have seen where they simply pulled a fuse looked at it and then put it back in the wrong hole so that it now powers nothing, it is easy to put them back in the wrong spot! Have fixed a couple of things this way over the years

Just a little update still no response from the plug. I checked all my fuse in the interior fuse box. I don't think it would in the outside box I'm guessing it's the plug.

Very interesting!
I would remove the obd2 port screws and have a look at the wiring and pins

You are correct it would not be a fuse under the hood
