OBD-II Outside Air Temp = -24F

The reading on inside display work perfect but when I plugged in my new OBD-II reader the Outside Air Temp perimeter says -24F on the reader only, still accurate on inside display. I unplugged the outside sensor in front of the radiator driver side and the inside gauge goes right to 75F. Plug it back in the is gets accurate at restart.
Is this outside air temp not a perimeter used for the 4.0?

How significant is the difference between the readings? And when you unplugged it did the scanner indicate a temp? Maybe the two are different sensors which are impacted by orientation.

Yes it is a perimeter on the 4.0 but I dont think the air temp comes from the same sensor as the one on the dash. On mine the dash is usually about 2 degrees off from the obd2 reading.

My dash shows 45F and the OBD-II shows -27F so totally different. Not getting any CIL.

the intake air temp is a sensor that is in the intake.... I have not tried to find it on my 2007 ex but in every other car/truck I have owned it was inside the intake tube after the maf sensor, if you unplug it the engine cant add/remove fuel for the temp of the air.... check the AFR using a scan tool and see if you are at the 14.1 stoich reading
