OBD Question

hey i got a 95 explorer. is it OBD II or OBD I ? i bought and OBD scan tool today and it hooks up under the dash but i keep getting the "err" error on the screen. wondering y the check engione light came on. thanks alot, Jake

most 95's are OBDI, and EEC-IV. Mine is. You can check by looking at the calibration code on your PCM, located in the engine compartment in the upper left hand cowl.

I did the same thing as you. The port is there under the steering column, but won't read as it's not hooked up to anything yet. If you attach to the OBD1 port under the hoold on the drivers side next to the fuse box you'll be in business.
