Hey guys, I bought a cable which is OBDII on one end and 9 Pin serial on the other. I have attempted to connect to my truck's EMC with no luck. The serial port on the laptop does work and in fact I've tried three different laptops. Any ideas?

You need some software...

+1^ I use bowser electronics software for 5 years now and works great, I have the extended data package for all of the modules on truck, 4x4 module, abs, air bag, parking aid, all of that stuff that a standard ob2 scanner can`t see:D

Make sure you have the driver for the cable installed, although, if your hooking it up via an actual serial port you should be fine.
