Here is the formula
use at your own risk
I have only used octane boosters on older cars without computers, sensors etc.
This is the basic formula of one of the popular octane booster products.
To make eight 16 ounce bottles (128 oz = 1gal):
100 oz of toluene for octane boost
25 oz of mineral spirits (cleaning agent)
3 oz of transmission fluid (lubricating agent)
This product is advertised as "octane booster with cleaning agent *and* lubricating agent!".
Diesel fuel or kerosene can be substituted for mineral spirits and light turbine oil can be substituted for transmission fluid. Color can be added with petroleum dyes.
If you wanted to you could just use straight touluene, but like with ethanol blends I would keep the mix under 10% an example 11 gallon tank 10 gallons real gas (not blended) to 1 gallon toluene I think i have done the math right. If I was going to do this I would shoot for a 5% mix. since I don't have a knock problem I don't have a need for one.
USE WITH CAUTION
