Hi all. I rebuilt a 4r70w rear wheel drive trans when I changed my Ex from AWD to RWD. Really runs nice, put a heavy duty shift kit in it, added the 1/2 2/3 shift accumulator update, and used a good quality rebuild kit. Also, I installed a new converter, stock stall, that is supposed to handle 400 hp. I drive the truck to work and don't beat on it, and have been real proud of the trans since it's the first Ford and first overdrive automatic I've rebuilt Today, while sitting in line at the bank, the OD light started flickering. I drove it home and put my SCT scanner on it and looked for codes. Nothing. It seems to work fine, except for one thing. When it goes into torque converter lockup, the rpm only drops a little, then overdrive comes on, and it's a nice, firm shift. Is it possible the aftermarket torque converter is bad? Without a code, I hate to start shooting in the dark. Ps: I don't have anywhere near 400 hp. Maybe 325, and that's being generous. Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
