Hey guys me again. Having a few problems as of lately. About to tackle another one and need some insight. my 06 expy keeps making this whining sound upon acceleration. Almost like a thin piece of metal rapidly vibrating against something. But usually goes away once i hit 2nd gear. Its like a 50/50 chance this happens. Cold start and while its been running. this has been going on for sometime now. But have not been able to figure out the cause. I don't notice any kind of performance hit and there doesn't seem to be any other symptoms arising from it. its a 4.0 if that helps.

Does it sound like it is coming from the engine bay of the wheels? Try driving through a tunnel or underpass and see if you can locate where it's coming from.

Lots of things on these trucks can and will squeal; wheel bearings, pulleys etc.

Thanks for the quick reply Joey. Yeah thats the first thing i thought was maybe something in the suspension/steering. When i replaced my stabilizer links (about 3k ago) i checked everything. Including ball joints hubs/bearings u-joints. Checked the brake dust shield also, i had it before on another vehicle where it was rubbing up against something causing it to vibrate. But everything seemed to be in good shape. And even before that i had to replace my tension pulley and belt. checked everything there and a-ok. Im worried its an internal issue. But like i said it has been going on for a long time now. well over 15000 miles. I have taken it places but they were never able to find a cause.
