if you dont use your sunglass/garage opener remove the door and mount up there.

I don't have those things on the overhead console but that is where the sunroof control and map lights are. I have thought about right next to it above the visor. It is thin enough to fit above the visor without it being obnoxious and it would actually look good. Still considering that but wiring the antenna to it and getting a good ground would be difficult although getting power from there would be nice. Another issue with it up there is mounting the mic but that's not really a big problem. Still considering this location. My dad is a wiring expert (has spent most of his career wiring C130s and F22s), so I'll see what he thinks.

Don't wanna get a maglite upside the head when you hit a bump & it falls out, lol!

No, no sir I do not. And I do not have that much faith in anything made of plastic. I'm pretty set on doing it behind the rear seat.

Thanks for the ideas everyone. I'm taking them all in. Keep 'em coming.

Those are some awesome additions!

I have my cb on the passenger side of my console. Not sure if you saw it. That way it's no in my way. But I also have all my light switches on my side of the console so drivers side was out of the question for me. Plus the antenna wire was easily run under the pass side sill plates and floor.

That's what I'm leaning toward now since the passenger seat its rarely occupied and never by me so what do I care if some leg room gets killed over there. I am going to run the antenna wire on the passenger side so it definitely makes more sense.

I think it was on Lonos cb thread that I posted a bunch of pictures of my setup if you want to see what I did. It's really straight forward though.

Got my bed back for fall.

Lookin good!

Looks good man.

Hopefully I can build my steel rear bumper before winter and I think I'll redesign the swingout tire carrier if you're interested in getting this one I made last winter, I'll be putting it up for sale whenever I build my new bumper/ tire carrier. Just need to swap out bodylift bumper brackets since the carrier is built into them and the reinforcement since mine is notched for the carrier brackets. Might have to hold off until spring, lots of other projects around the house to get done before winter.

Thanks. I'm hoping to build steel bumpers and sliders this winter since I didn't get it done over the summer like I had hoped. I like having the spare in the bed like I have had it but only bought the roof rack for hunting season so I can use the bed. Next spring, the tire will likely go to the bed again. I appreciate the offer, though.

looking good hugh! i just looked at your registry saw that you had 55k on the ticker when you bought it? whats on it now? btw i want your seats..... they looked flawless. such a gem

Thanks. Odometer says 102k. It lies. I put the 35s on just before 100k.

I drive a lot less now that I left Atlanta. Haven't even put 5k on it this year.

That setup looks great. I haven't looked it up online but did that basket cost less than what a yakima goes for? I was planning on getting one but I got my first taste of buying college books so...no

Thanks. It was about half off on Amazon for $125. So...yeah, way cheaper than a Yakima or Thule. If Curt knows how to make strong towing equipment, I trust their manufacturing process for a roof basket.

The cross bars are unbranded I think and were about $75. Fit great, made of steel and have locks.

I will have to admit, tossing a 35" tire on a steel wheel into it kinda sucks, lol.

You're not kidding! And I have to be more careful because I don't have a basket

Cant wait to see the rest of the stuff go on soon.

My bad, I didn't fully read the ad and it was late last night. lol

I just bought the rigid industries halo flashlight, very nice and bright but also very expensive at that. Has 5 different settings with a strobe mode and morse code mode.
