Oh NOES its getting cold

Hey guys,

I have a 98 EB Explorer that does not blow hot air. The AC works fine and I can adjust the temp to a certian degree, but it doesn't get hot enough.

I checked and recheck for the blend door issue. When I put my hand on the box I can feel it hit from the AC setting to the vent setting. I took of the door motor out and felt the top of the door and I can move it (with my finger) and it doesn't feel cracked.

I'm looking for other suggestions on how to fix the issue.

Are you talking about the blend door (hidden in the black enclosure under the glove box) or the fresh-air selector (flat paddle thing that opens and closes to the firewall?

Sounds like a blend door to me... Way too common not to be...

Or a stuck thermostat. Does your temp. gauge show the engine is warm?

Yes the thermostat is working. I just replaced the Heater control valve and no change. I'm going to go for the blend door this weekend.
