The bad luck continues. With my whole thread about the headlight ordeal, I thought I had it solved. I need a new blinker, hi low stick but in the mean time or Jeff, my more electrical knowledgable buddy, and I put a relay in that fit into the plug so I have low beams only.
Now after about 30 miles of driving this happens
All is good then suddenly, the battery warning light comes on and the first thing I notice is power steering is GONE. Then lights dim a little. I kill the stereo to save power and make it home. Meanwhile the battery gauge has drooped down considerably. I get home and hear a bad noise under the hood. I pooped the hood and it is the cooland resivoir, capped open and antifreeze spooing out. Is the alternator shot, if so is this working my belt so hard that I started to overheat or is the coolant system electrically powered by any means? Where do I start on this one?
What happened.
I will get the blinker stick ASAP, but I dont think this will eliminate the problem, but it will make the truck like it was before the problem
Thanks I need speedy advice
Dan

My first thought is your serpentine belt is broken.
I would think that the elect. problem is not related to the overheating. You may have two things wrong at once. Hope its just the belt....

Well were fixed up again for now. It was the tensioner arm. It must have seized up the bearings. However the belt didnt break the plastic pully was eaten to shreads. Oh well $43 later and about 10 minutes of my time plus I actually know how to set the belt in that thing. Priceless
