hi all, for some reason this morning i decided to check the oil in my 22 aviator with 1800 miles on it. i was shocked to see the oil down a quart. i have checked it in the past and it was fine. i topped it off and am hoping that i'm all set.
its not like my wife has a heavy foot so it definitely isn't beat on. has anyone experienced this happening ? if so any info will be appreciated. 🏈

That IS a lot. My 2020 ST will be down a quart after 10k miles for the next oil change. I now check the oil at 5k and add about 1/2 qt at that time.

With break in, who knows. Keep an eye on it.

I'm just curious if you checked it when you initially got the Aviator? If not, it may have been low before.

hi mishmosh, that's my plan i'll give it the benefit of doubt and keep checking it. the last thing i'd want is a severe engine issue requiring removal to make the necessary repair (talk about a car never being the same). My other car is an 03 vette with 105,000 on the clock and doesn't burn a drop of oil
so in my mind there should b minimal oil consumption with this brand new car.

of course i did. I've checked it a few times.

FWIW, I've never had a vehicle lose that much oil in such a short time/distance, even the ones that had a known leak.
