Oil cooler change

Guys, please help.

I have oil in my coolant. Have diagnosed as the oil cooler.
I have the parts but need to know if I have to drop the oil? Or can I replace the oil cooler without doing this? I.e. does the oil cooler sit above the pan oil level?

I believe it does. Left side of the engine (front) on the radiator side, towards the read of the engine (transmission side).

Yes, that’s it, left hand front of the block just below exhaust manifold.
