oil in 5 speed trans

I have a 2004 3.0, 5 speed trans.I would like to know if I can replace the trans oil with some type of synthetic oil.It has 35,ooo miles on the clock and does very well.Just would like to upgrade the oil,if I can.Thanks

...Get yourself a Haynes book at yur local parts store...This will pay for itself when it comes to fluids and capacaties..

Call me silly, but you are planning to use Synthetic Transmission Fluid right? Kinda sounds like your eyeing Synthetic Engine Oil. You are going to want something like Mobil 1 Sythetic ATF, there is no wt for this. They also have a manual blend.

OK ,SILLY.LOL I use syn oil in the engine,and would like to run syn in the tranny.Does it take ATF in a manuel trans?? if so I will use the syn type.

Mobil Delvac Synthetic Transmission Fluid 50 is what you want That's Mobil's synthetic man. I may have just read your post wrong, trying to keep an eye on 1y/o and read posts at same time.

I believe Royal Purple makes a premium synthetic for manual as well.
