Hi can any one tell me what size and thread I would need to add an oil Pressure gauge to a 93 OHV 4.0. It will be a mechanical gauge.

I will be most likely using copper line for it with it being mounted on the A pillar. Using two 2 5/8 gauges on the pillar (oil pressure and a vac gauge) and one 2 1/16 for the Trans temp were most have there 4x4 buttons. I have a manual transfer case so that spot is a good one for the trans gauge and a switch or two and I have it all figured out but the oil gauge is my problem child as in size threads and t fitting . Thanks for your help ahead of time and when done will post a pick or two if I can.

Copper line would be bad, as would any hard line (i.e. steel) due to vibration and engine movement. Steel would be better as soft copper line (the flexible stuff) is by definition soft, breaks easily, and is very easy to kink or crack when installing. If you are worried about oil in the cab (and believe me I understand that concern) I would consider using an electrical gauge. I believe our oil pressure sending unit is a 1/8 npt thread however, for the sake of answering your original question, and you'll need the fittings for an electrical gauge too.

Thanks for the help.
Now as for the info about oil in the cab well been there done that still prefer mechanical over elec. so it will be mechanical. The copper line will run for most of the way and be in a fix spot with out movement then the last part will be a flex braided line I already have in case I would have to remove the gauge or work on that area. Never thought about steel may look into that. Do not care for that plastic stuff as it dose get hard and brittle that I know.
Again thanks
