Okay guys. I plan to leave here around 11am Friday morning. I should arrive up there around 7pm that night.

Karol, any way I could meet you at that hotel? That way we could clear up the reservations/payment and I could follow you to that campground to meet everyone. Also, should I meet you guys at the campground Saturday morning and follow you guys for breakfast or is the hotel on the way for you?

I'm sure I'll have a few more questions in the next two days.

BTW, the hitch I ordered doesn't look like it's gonna make it here in time. :(

Well I think

that as time draws nearer we will get a clearer picture of what exactly we will be doing and when we will be arriviing...... but you have my cell number....I will have it with me.... I'm sure when I get my tent and stuff squared away I could take a ride there....

Well since Perkins is just accross the street from your hotel I guess we could all meet you there on Saturday morning.... that is where Jeff and whoever else isn't camping is going to meet us on Saturday morning.... I figured I would call ahead... (probably on the way to camp on friday) and tell them to have us a couple of tables ready.....

How does that sound guys?? ok everyone got their coolers ready? extra auto fluids? tow hooks on? (if not we'll help) I figured on about $8 per group for a tip for the guide.... is that ok? or does anyone have suggestions on how much the tip should be?

At breakfast I will be handing out Waiver forms for ECX as well as Emergency Contact Forms.... At the staging area Paragon also has some forms for you to fill out....

Our guide is supposed to meet us at the staging area to go over things with us...

Any other suggestions will be appreciated....

Karol

OK

so who is camping and who is staying at the campgrounds? are there any other people that are goin from or through my area? and what time would be the best to arrive?

Camping

From what I know so far

Jeff is going to meet us at Perkins in the am

John (yob-yeknom) si staying at The Forest Hill Inn with his girlfriend...I will meet them there and bring them over to the campground on friday night

as far as I know Keith and his girlfriend are camping out

My friends and I will be camping at the campground..

and I don't know what you have decided to do yet.... you could meet us at the campground if you want or just meet up with us at the Perkins in the morning...

I believe that MetJeep has posted the directions earlier on this thread... but if you want the address here it is

Red Ridge Lake Campground
61 Millers Road
Zion Grove, PA 17985
(570) 384 4760

Just get yourself on Interstate 81 from where you live...get off at exit 40 ....follow the directions from there...

The Perkins is off of exit 41 and is right accross the street from the Forrest Hill Inn... there are signs posted at the exit with the Hotel and resturant and which direction they are in...

My girlfriend and I will be camping. I should be leaving work at about 4PM and get there around 6:30-7:00. My girl friend will be coming up after work from Allentown PA. She should be getting there around the same time.

Did you receive my check?

whats needed for camping? just a tent and a sleeping bag? if thats it ill be there fri evening sometime

I'll iron out all the details when I get off of work tonight at 10:30. I'll get my girlfriend to ask any questions she'd like to know also.

Karol, PM me your number again. I seem to have accidentally deleted that message. Thanks.

Karol, could u send me ur # as well, i know im gonna get lost.. usually do. thanx

ok

Yes Keith I got your check.... everyone is paid up except lizardtrac who will bring his $$ with him

Lizardtrack all you need for camping is a tent. a sleeping bag and $10...

I was just looking at my trucks....testing out both winches...

Can all of you guys help me with my Bronco top...I want to remove the top for the run... it weighs about 400 lbs and I will need the strengh of you all...I will be carrying extra coolant and water... anyone have gas cans mounted?

I will PM you my cell # again but if I am at the campground I won't get a signal..... What I can do is ...when I arrive at the campground....I can pitch my tent ..... grab my son and head on up to the Forest Hill Inn and meet you up there.... Lizardtrac....why don't you meet John (yob-yeknom) there and I'll meet you both there... depending on what time you get there...

It is now 7pm est here if you all want to discuss this be in the Explorer chat room around 9pm Est tonight ....

thats fine, Ill meet john there , i just got to find out what time he will be there and ill adjust my timing acordingly, sorry but where the hell is this explorer chat room? ill be there.. just got to find it.
.

should b there between 6 and 7 pm tomorrow night, cant find exact directions to the hotel but i guess ill see it off of exit 41 from rt 81? how far off the exit is it?

k tanks.... gotta go put tow hook on.... i be there...

there are signs off the exit...

the exit is the Hazelton exit.... Jeff was just telling me that they may have changed these exit numbers to reflect the mile marker..... They may have the old exit numbers posted under it.....but really it is a big exit and there are signs like the ones on the Turnpike telling you exactly what hotels are in which direction and what resteruants are in which direction..... the campground is somewhat harder to find so like I said I'll meet you guys there,...

Karol

k..... lookin foward to being lost.... lmao....

Hey, if you wander around lost long enough, I'll find ya in the morning. LMAO :D

Forrest Hill Inn

The Forrest Hill Inn (hotel, motel, whatever) is the first exit north of the Paragon exit. Distinguishing features for this exit (getting on from the north) are next to none, except it is probably labeled EAST Hazelton. Once you get off of the interstate, head east for a light or two or three and Forrest Hill is on the LEFT side of the road. The road is a divided highway at this point, and it is kind of easy to blow on past if you are not looking for it.

If you accidentally get off of the interstate an exit too early (Rt. 924 or 926 or something like that), this is the exit you take WEST towards Paragon and the camping area. If you accidentally go east here, there are no hotels. You end up going 2-3 miles before hitting town. It is pretty easy to get to the hotel from here too, but you need a little confidence, so it is probably best to backtrack and go up an exit.

Hope the rain keeps up. It will keep the dust down this weekend, and maybe fill up the mud pit a bit!!
