Depends on how good you are and how good your chosen mechanic is. Some mechanics would take one look at that code list and start listing parts that need to be replaced without any further diagnosis. In that case, you might be better off trying the diagnosis yourself. Some people, on the other hand, don't have the patience or desire to try to do it themselves, so they are better off taking it in.Is this something I can do myself or is it better left to a mechanic?
If I were in your shoes, I'd try to do it myself before taking it in.
Depends on what's wrong. If the cannister purge solenoid valve isn't opening, pressure can build up in the gas tank and you will start to smell gas around the truck during/after driving. EGR fault will create driveability and emissions issues. If emissions testing is an issue for you, under some circumstances, you won't be able to pass an emissions test because the check engine light is on.What problems will I have if I do nothing?
