OK, learned I can't bypass the fuel EVAP equipment.

I melted the hose from the charcoal canister to the upper intake manifold as I forgot to hook it up after assembling the engine's top end. I capped off the port on the intake manifold and thought I had a winner. Well, after driving it for a week, a CEL came on. Autozone pulled the code and it's a P0455. Gross/massive evap circuit leak detected. OK, ordered the new hose today from Ford. So the moral of the story is: the ECU is too smart for me to take a shortcut.

Yes, it's located under the battery. I ordered the new hose, p/n F67Z9G271DA from the local Ford Dealer. I should have it tomorrow. Hope it fits. Too bad I didn't notice the missing hose as I could have saved it from melting to the exhaust manifold.
