Old 5.0'r new member...........

Have lurked on this site off and on as i'm a ford guy and have always liked the little 5.0 explorer/mountaineer but never owned one or really "needed" one. I've always had a ford truck and a load of fox mustangs (currently have 5) but my fiances suburban has gotten a lot of miles on it and she complains about the size around town so she started wanting something "smaller"..........of course me being a ford guy and having converted her to a ford/drag racing fan she immediately started looking at exploders............of course i thought the v8 model would be an excellent idea and she concurred choosing "power" over mileage........anyway we had some trouble finding one we liked but this last saturday we got lucky and found one......she test drove it and fell in love and now she is the proud owner of a 2000 mountaineer premier edition.

134,000 one owner locally bought (northwest florida)
2wd and is in suprisinglly great shape inside, outside, underside and underhood are super clean.........i never get this lucky looking for vehicles

Anyway she loves it and i'm a fan of it also...........now its time for a few mods lol...........

Probably just a filter or homemade CAI and some exhaust uprades............maybe a tune down the road.............. i'll take it to my local 1/8th. mile track this fall just to see what it will run and probably get it on the dyno for fun next year...............again, we both really like it as we were used to driving her suburban daily driver for family stuff............i daily a '90 lx aod/5.0 with pulleys/4.10's/ shorties/hpipe/catback/MAF/65tb/explorer intake but i'm still surprised at how peppy this thing feels
