Older console in newer Explorer?

Hi all,
I need to purchase a new console for my 2001 explorer sport and I have found one from a 2000 explorer for sale. Both are the full length consoles with rear controls, but the older one has the tissue holder / ash tray where-as my current one has no ash tray or tissue holder but instead just the 2 cup holders and the space with the rubber bottom closest to the dash. I was wondering as to whether the older model one will fit / bolt into my 2001 without any modifications. Will I be able to use the rear controls on the old one if they are also on my current one? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I raplaced the console in my 99 with a console from a 92. I have the short console though. It should probabley work, it just depends on how it mounts to the bottom part of the dash. I would say test fit it if possible, but it should work.
