Can anyone tell me how hard it is to install a chip, and is it easy to remove if I have to take the car in for warranty work. Then once the chip is removed from the vehicle, can the dealer tell if a chip was installed? I am debating on a buying a chip, what is holding me back is the fact I have 4 years of warranty left. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jason

Piece of cake

Your '99 the same as mine, ECU on top left/center firewall of engine compartment as you face engine. The chip goes into the back of the ECU (prepare to remove/grind plastic stops in ECU bay so the unit w/chip will fit back in correctly). Once the chip is in you only need to disconnect your neg battery terminal, remove ECU and chip from ECU, replace ECU and hook up battery before you're dealer bound.
