? on installing a cap

i dont know to much about audio. i have 2 amps. one for subs and one for highs and mids. Should the cap be installed on the 4ga wire off the battery before it splits to the amps or should it go to just the amp for my subs?

I'm going to guess that your sub amp is the one pulling the majority of the power, so unless your mids and highs amp is putting out over 1000 watts, connect the cap to the wire that only leads to the sub amp. And make it as close to the amp as possible.
