I have a 2001 Ex Sport 4x2. I am planning on lifting my exlporer using a TT, Warrior shackles, double add a leafs, and 4dr springs. I want to clear 32's. My questions are:

1. Will 4x4 rear springs work? If Yes what years can I use, and will they give more height than 2wd springs?

2. I have no clue where to get them so, Where can I get double add a leafs?

3. Yes this is completely unrelated to the topic but, does any one make ranch bumpers for the explorers?

do the 4x4 4 door leafs

dont do the double add a leafs, the truck will ride like crap

shackles are good

tt is good....

31s will fit stock, in most cases, you just need to check fitment of the tires

trim the fenderwells

you will need to ahve the bumper custom made, the commercially available stuff is jsut for looks

if you are serious about wheeling or using this truck as a ranch truck, you will need a locker at the very least, or sell it and get a 4x4

You shouldn't have to trim anything to fit 32s on an '01 Sport. I have 265/75/16s (32 x 10.5) on mine with just F150 rear leaves and a minor TT to lift the front maybe an inch and there is plenty of room. The suspension is stiffer than stock, but it would with an add-a-leaf kit anyway. I'll try to take some new pics of mine with the 32s, to show how they look.

You'll probably be able to fit them with only the shackles and a TT.

I don't think there is a difference in rear springs in a 2wd vs 4wd Sport.

In case you're interested...Here's the thread for F150 spring upgrade:

Sports use a mono leaf as opposed to multi leafs that the 4 door uses.

Silver X is your main leaf spring from a 4 door explorer or is it your original mono spring?

'01+ Sports have multi leaf springs. I used the main leaf from my rear leaf pack, then added the F150 leaves to it.

I took a couple of new pics, but still have to resize and upload them.

Front sway bar is only place they rub, and only while turning hard at full lock:

Doesn't contact anywhere else, but these tires are only 10.5" wide. I'd like to go wider next time.

Thanks yall. I have read all suggestions and decided this:

1. 31's, Because they were free (I stole the wheels and tires off my 94 Wrangler) :D

2. Add-a-leafs(just singles thanks Jimbo  ) you cant beat $40 after shipping

3.TT again Free

4. Warrior 153 shackles

5. Real pipe bumper in the rear with a drop down for 2 1/4 reciver.

6. Probably a Tjm Front T-3 (Way to bloody expensive I went with a strap on besides I got to keep my uber cool front grille this way)
7. Aussie locker in the rear

8. And this is the kicker, if it fits......a Jeep Liberty renagade light bar  .

where did u find the Add-A-Leafs for $40? I cant seem to find the right ones online for a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport

FRX, Summit Racing is the place you need to buy them from. They are made by Explorer Procomp. I don't know the part # off the top of my head but if do a search you will find it.

thanks for the info, Two quick questions..whats FRX and width do i need(ex: 2.36inch)?

My install sheet from ProComp says Part# 56001 I dont remember the width. Just follow the match your car thing on summits site. If you use the add a leaf thread as you instructions you cant go wrong. The only thing I think I did different was I completely removed the swaybar from the axel upon reinstall. Oh and do the shackles at the same time I would have been kicking my self if I had to go back into that rear end again to do something I should have done to begin with.

Not a problem If you run into any problems just ask the questions. I might just have the answer. Oh and after this lift you CAN clear 32's perfectly.

whats FRX

I was to lazy to type your whole user name so I abreviated it & my blind arse thougt it was FRX instead FFX :D
