open door noise getting on my nerves

my explorer recently at night when i have my lights on has been making that beeping noise (the one you hear when keys are in ignition and door is open). after i slam my dorr about five times it finally goes off, what can i do to elminate this problem?

find where the noise is comming from and use a BFH or just disco the wires

BFH = Big Fudging Hammer. And I like his idea. You can kind the little noise making box and unplug the dang wire. Happy Saturday Night!

I think on my X the beeper is located just behind the emergency brake apperatus, right by where my left foot goes.

Is it possible to make it so it doesn't beep when I have it on Accesory mode? Or is it possible to change the noise that it makes? Maybe i'll steal my aunt's Chrysler chime. It is bearable and actually sounds kinda cool.
