I smell a writeup... :)

Too bad you're not closer to Irvine, as Megs does open garage nights all the time. The factory guys are there, going over new products, and techniques too. Very cool...

Thanks!! 5 large, sweet!!

I'll leave the detail writeups to the king, dr.dirt :) I will post a few before and after shots, but nothing of dirt quality.

That would be cool to check out the open garage nights...

I swear- I equated seeing the UPS truck delivering 3 boxes of detailing supplies to finding a stash of **** when I was 11 years old. I need to go be alone with my microfibers now... No cameras.

:D

Don't tell me that isn't a sig line. Who's taking it...

Just be careful with the power buffer mate, you only need a light touch.:D:D

Not only 1 sig line but 2....................

Mr. Dirt....ive seen many of your posts arond the forum and respect the work you do to keep you X's clean. I am also the same way. It can be the middle of winter and ill be washing my truck and waxing it in my heated garage. Its hard to keep a 1st gen like mine looking good but i keep up on her. I have a interior care question. A co-worker of mine and i were talking about cleaning cars and the subject of interiors came up. he said on lether and interior plastics you can use Pledge furniture polish. He says it nourishs the plastic and leather if you use Pledge with lemon oil. Ive seen his truck (97 Expedition) and since new hes used it on tthe leather and plastic and it loks factory fresh. He also uses a mild mixture of dishsoap and water in a spry battle to clean the carpets. Have you heard of theses methods befor and would it be ok to try it out on mine as well without screwing anything up?

Dishsoap and water is ok, Cadillac actually recommends that method for leather. Woolite and water diluted to 10:1 or 6:1 if horrid works well too, and leaves leather very soft. For carpet, if I'm going to be doing extraction, I'll use something like Meg's All Purpose Cleaner +, as it is low foaming and had some degreasing ability. Problem with dishsoap is that it foams a lot, and is hard to get out. You won't mess anything up by using it though. For a spray product, "Tuff Stuff" is pretty good.

You can use anything you like on the interior panels... I tried the Pledge thing once, but it ended up being too slick and a bit too shiny for me. Plus, it's mostly water and hydrocarbon solvents so it isn't toxic bad, but there are no UV blockers, and I like "dull" leather, I'm not a shine fan. Even the seats in Deuce are shiny for me, I'm considering stripping the new product I used (Meg's leather cleaner and conditioner) and going back to my old Meg's gold class leather cleaner and conditioner lotion.

I guess in my view, you're not saving money by using those other products, if it were me, I'd stick with what is recommended for those surfaces and has the proper chemicals to maintain them and not crack. I'll use pledge in the house. :)

Thanks bud. Yeah i think ill stick to my normal cleaners and conditioners. I use Meguiers on my interior and Scotch Guard carpet cleaner. LOL tan is so hard to keep clean but looks great when it is.

Any questions? ;)

Outstanding!!

Bloody hell mate!! You're the man!!!

Hey Deer-tay (still one of the most underrated SNL-cast comedies, especially due to its soundtrack),

I caught myself doing another one of my detailing quirks this weekend and figured I'd see if you, too, are sick in the head. When I'm done with my microfibers, I wash them separately. No big deal. I rack dry them. No big deal. I put them in the dryer on air fluff for a minute or two to loosen them up. Maybe a little issue. I then sit at the table, which is clean, and go over each one, both sides, with tweezers, picking out any stray debris, stiff fibers, and the like. Perhaps an issue here.

I need more hobbies.

I go over the MF's as well, but mainly if they're the exterior cloths. Wise not to have any stuff stuck in there if you're going to buff with one.

If they get too matted or hard to clean up, I just turn them into interior only MF's. :)

Also- for those of you that wash your stuff, don't use any fabric softener or dryer sheets when you wash them...
